Date a girl who travels

Date a girl who travels. She lives in the moment. She doesn’t see the world the regular, mundane way. She rejoices in every colour of the sky and will show you if you’re willing to see.

Date a girl who travels. She dresses the way she feels and doesn’t care about how she looks. Still, she ends up looking beautiful…you know the simple beauty that comes without trying too much? She might not bother much about brands, but her hands always touch the right pair before she packs her bag for another adventure.

Date a girl who travels. A sudden change in plans will never upset her. She knows that the best things in life come when you least expect them. Probably not the eternal optimist, but she knows there’s no point wasting time being sad, life’s too short for the drudgery. You might as well enjoy.

Date a girl who travels. She won’t judge. Neither your clothes the first time you took her on a date, nor the things you do. She’s seen enough of change to know never to change you. She’ll love you for who you are and sometimes see right through you, when you feel there’s no one who understands your sorrows. She’s seen enough of the world to get that.

She’ll hold your hand through the difficult times, though you might have to learn to let it go when she wants to run to the edge of a cliff and scream—empty out her lungs only to breathe in the fresh air again. But she’ll be right back by your side before you know it, pulling you to the edge to show you the world below. Don’t fret, the fear will get replaced by awe in seconds. You might have to try really hard to shut your jaw.

Date a girl who travels. She doesn’t need to be treated like a princess. In fact, she’d hate that. A gift for her will never be too heavy on your wallet. Only a little heavy on your heart…her simplicity might make you fall in love with her even more.

Date a girl who travels. She finds beauty in what may seem the most boring of things and people—whether it’s a leaf fallen to the ground or that distant cloud in the sky, that fat drunk girl who kept dancing even though everyone laughed or that kid across the road trying to see through his oversized monkey cap.

Date a girl who travels. She is wise enough to know there’s never enough of this universe to see or learn from, and she’s still only seen and learnt so little.

She might be the life of the party or a spectator at the edges of the crowd. But her eyes will shine a different colour every time there’s a chance for a new experience around.

She might not know what she wants to do with her life, or the best way to earn a living. But she sure as heck knows how to live. And will teach you too if you let her.

  • & there's Coffee too
  • Indian pickles, cooking ingredients or spices

  • Anything else Indian that might hit your head before it hits mine to add onto this list

I would want:
  • A pack of smokes from around your corner of the world (if mailing them is allowed)
  • Local art & craft items
  • Local chocolate, cheese or anything famous & edible
  • Tops--size: small
  • Sling bags--the artsy kinds
  • Local coffee
  • I don't know if alcohol can be shipped, but i'd love something particular to your country, if possible
  • Pens!--i love different kinds
  • Good books about mythology of your place or, famous local fiction
  • Ankle-length footwear--size: 7-7.5 inches
  • Also, i'm trying to write this book--so it'd be reallyhelpful if you could send me a small postcard / note writing how you percieve India as a country--roughly 2-3 lines.

A thousand million dollars ain't a joke, so i'll smile

Someone asked me what I'd do if i had a thousand million dollars to spend. Neither of us were drunk & in full sanity (ignoring that i consider myself partly insane anyways), i heard myself say:
- I'd get myself on all the thrill rides of the world in all it's famous & not-so-known amusement parks. And just once would never be enough
- I'd try ALL the adventure sports possible on this world's terrain.
- I'd buy a small cottage or a house in each of my favourite parts of the world, to snuggle in whenever i'm around.
- I'd get my art wardrobe installed like a walk-in closet.
- I'd make my own library housing my favourite books and movies that never failed to strum those strings of the heart & mind.

And a few days later, while putting this here, i decided to make a list of those rides, those sports, those places, i'd love to be in. There wouldn't be a better way of knowing, recording and getting suggestions for them for my coming endeavours, now would there be?

Sounds of the Mind

There are words, and sometimes there are just sounds
Of the mind. It has so much to say, so much want to do
Yet it does not much these days
It stays unhappy, burdened, worried, not knowing exactly of what
And often kills itself over the search of those handfuls of joy
When they come, they are best in small amounts, making the heart beam like it's never lived before
When they're gone, it's unhappy again, burdened, worried, not knowing of what
There's so much it wants to become, and yet so little the will to be
It knows what it wants to become, not much notion of how it will be.
Words are many, these'll always be. But not many to tell it of the times it does not see
Surprises i cherish, the unknown often pulls it close
It is brilliant what it puts itself in,
Yet the unexplained is in what it seeks to excel
There's never enough it says, and knows too, darn well
Not to this earth, not to this realm it belongs, yet it hates and loves it each day.
